End of the Book?

The video shows Peter Crawshaw, book-worm and founder of Lovereading.co.uk, comparing and discussing the difference between reading from a hard copy of a book and reading from the screen. Personally, I believe on the importance of having a paper book even if today, with the advancement of the technology, people have access to soft version of books. As an example, Japanese people have developed this new way of reading because of its convenience. They can transport it with them wherever they go, it is practical and it saves place in their briefcase. We should not neglect that in other countries, book remains the main tool of reading that people rely on whatsoever their interest is. Also, the majority of people have more pleasure to read on paper because they can read and reread as many time as they want. Books in general have history and are part of cultures and may attract more people interest.

The Old Newspapers Get Online Launch

One of the new initiatives of the giant search engine Google is to digitalize the old newspapers. This new kind of technology going from print newspapers to online ones will enable people to access easily to information. Keeping the original form of newspapers and allowing people to see that form is a good way to see how information was displayed at that time. This reproduction started with two majors newspapers: the New York Times and Washington Post. It is a good way of encouraging people to keep in touch with the news of whatever kind. Today, wherever a person is, he or she can access internet and therefore have access to news and information without any problems. To conclude, the reproduction of old newspapers online is a good initiative that the Google engine has taken to facilitate the access of information for people.
